Verde Valley Sanctuary thanks donors for ‘Giving Tuesday’ campaign totaling $67,398
Tax Credit donors can still give through April 15 for their 2025 state tax liability; Spring Thrifty’s set for April 4, Oct. 3
COTTONWOOD, Ariz. — Verde Valley Sanctuary recently announced their “Giving Tuesday” campaign totals, collecting 96 gifts for an impressive $67,398 to support their mission, which is to provide safety, services, and comfort to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
“After our Casino Night and all the support we received from the community to the tune of more than $120,000 in raised funds back in November, I wasn’t sure how our ‘Giving Tuesday’ campaign would go, but our local donors were very generous during the holidays this year and it speaks to how amazing they all are,” VVS Development and Communications Director Brian Bergner said.
Bergner said that “Giving Tuesday” is paired with their annual appeal letter that goes out to the community, which makes a call for end-of-year donations. Typically, donation checks come in throughout January from the campaign, which is why VVS waits to announce until February, making sure to recognize all donors for their contributions.
“It truly is amazing the support we receive from the community for all of our fundraising campaigns,” Bergner said.
VVS opened its doors in 1993 and now offers a 28-bed pet-friendly emergency shelter, transitional housing, lay legal advocacy, community outreach and more.
Bergner added that local community members who have not made a donation yet certainly have the opportunity to do so. VVS is accepting tax credit donations currently, which can be made up until April 15 to count toward a donor’s 2025 state tax liability.
The agency is also hosting two Twice Nice Spring Thrifty events, the first in Sedona on Saturday, April 4, and the second at the Camp Verde location on Saturday, Oct. 3. The events encourage supporters to stop by the store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for every three items donated, they’ll receive a raffle ticket which will be entered into a drawing for a prize.
