Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

Donate to the Verde Valley Sanctuary using your Tax Credit!

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit allows taxpayers to take advantage of a dollar-for-dollar credit for donations to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCO), which Verde Valley Sanctuary is! This tax credit can be claimed on your Arizona personal tax return to reduce your state tax liabilities equal to the donated amount, up to the maximum allowable limits.

For 2026, the maximum allowable credit for contributions made to a QCO like Verde Valley Sanctuary is $1,009 if married and filing jointly, or $506 if single or married filing separate. For example, if a single individual owes $1,000 in taxes, but donates to a nonprofit agency like Verde Valley Sanctuary, their tax liability is reduced to $494. If a married couple filing jointly owes $1,100, their tax liability could be just $91!

And remember, Arizona taxpayers do not need to make their charitable contributions to QCOs before December 31 of a given year in order to be eligible for the state tax credit for that year, the state allows taxpayers to claim the credit for gifts made all the way up until April 15.
