Volunteers are a valuable resource at the Verde Valley Sanctuary. Being a volunteer with the Verde Valley Sanctuary gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by domestic violence while participating in a rewarding experience. When you volunteer, you help make our limited dollars and resources stretch farther.
We offer two great ways to volunteer with us, Thrift Store Volunteers and Client Services Volunteers:
Thrift Store Volunteers
You can volunteer in one of our two thrift stores: Twice Nice in Sedona and Twice Thriftique in Cottonwood helping to support our retail operations.
The Thrift Stores serve as the Resource Center for our clients. Clients are given vouchers to purchase needed items such as clothing and housewares. In addition, the stores generate close to 20% of our annual operating revenue. If you enjoy working in retail and customer service stop into either of our two stores for an application. (See map below for address and directions.)
Client Services Volunteer
Want to work hands-on with our clients at our Outreach Center or at the Shelter? We need volunteers to help clients in a variety of ways including: driving clients to appointments, childcare support, beautician services, job and housing search support, legal assistance and more.
If you are interested in becoming a Client Services Volunteer please call the Volunteer Coordinator, Leslie Stevens, at (928) 634-6255 at our Outreach Center located at 601 W. Mingus Ave, in Cottonwood. Prospective volunteers must complete a volunteer application and interview followed by a volunteer orientation.
