The Giving Corner: Our Casino Night was a smash hit, but we’re not done yet!

With the holiday season in full swing, it’s the perfect time of year to reflect on all the good we can accomplish in the world with a little bit of time, effort and love. So many of you reading this have dedicated your lives to serving others, and sometimes that includes Verde Valley Sanctuary, and we thank you for it!

Our 2025 Casino Night Fundraiser was a smashing success, with more than 120 supporters coming out for an evening of fun, and to aid in Verde Valley Sanctuary’s efforts to serve survivors of domestic and sexual violence in our community. We don’t have final numbers yet as I write this in mid-November, but we are potentially looking at a six-figure amount raised! Kudos to all of you for making that happen, we couldn’t have done it without you!

If you were unable to make our Casino Night event, and would still like to contribute we have a few upcoming things you can participate in to show your support for Verde Valley Sanctuary:

• Giving Tuesday: Last year’s annual appeal was a rousing success, raising $73,014! We are launching our Giving Tuesday campaign once again, which begins Tuesday, Dec. 2, and usually runs through January. Many of you will be receiving a letter in the mail letting you know our Giving Tuesday annual appeal has launched, but you can also visit VerdeValleySanctuary.org and click on the “Donate” tab to participate.
• Tax Credit Season: For those of you who owe the state of Arizona a few bucks in taxes this year, Verde Valley Sanctuary offers a way for community members and our supporters to participate in the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit program, taking advantage of a dollar-for-dollar credit to our Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO). This tax credit can be claimed on your Arizona personal tax return to reduce your state tax liabilities up to $987 if married filing jointly, or $495 if single. Our QCO code is #20041, and Tax ID #86-0741314. Last year, we had an impressive 122 gifts for $55,558 and we hope to surpass that this year! • Arizona Gives Day: Set for Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Arizona Gives Day is a way that donors across the state of Arizona can raise awareness and support their favorite causes. Verde Valley Sanctuary raised $20,236 last year, and we will participate this year once again!
• Twice Nice Thriftique Donations: Our Twice Nice locations in Sedona, 1225 W. State Route 89A, and Camp Verde, 527 S. Main St., are always in need of item donations including clothing, shoes, handbags, furniture, art, bikes and recreational equipment and more. Please visit these stores and make a contribution in this way! Remember, the survivors we serve shop every day for things they may need at Twice Nice and it is 100% free to them.
• Upcoming Thrifty Events: In 2026, we plan on hosting another Spring Thrifty event at our Twice Nice Thriftique in Sedona, and we’ll have either a Summer of Fall Thrifty event at the Camp Verde Twice Nice Thriftique. Stay tuned on dates and more details in the new year!
